BioTraze legal
Data Protection
Last updated: 24 October 2026
Health information is sensitive. This page explains how BioTraze handles it and the rights you have, including under UK, EU and Nigerian data protection laws where they apply.
Health data
We process health data only to provide the service you asked for — your analysis, or a clinic's care of its patients — and with your explicit consent or another lawful basis the clinic relies on.
Who controls your data
- For personal analyses, BioTraze decides how your data is used.
- For ClinicOS, your clinic decides how its patient records are used, and BioTraze processes them on the clinic's behalf.
How we protect it
- Each clinic's records are separated so staff only see their own organisation's data.
- Access is limited by role (patient, clinician, physician, admin).
- Patients must consent before a video consultation link is shown.
Your rights
- Access a copy of your data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data or restrict how it is used.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Complain to your data protection authority (e.g. the ICO in the UK or the NDPC in Nigeria).
Disclaimer
We take reasonable steps to protect your data, but no online service can be completely secure. Protecting your health data does not make BioTraze a medical service: its analyses are for information only and are not medical advice.
Make a request
Email privacy@biotraze.com. If your data is held by a clinic, we may refer your request to that clinic. We aim to reply within one month.
